Hairsparation!

So two weeks ago I received a package from HairByKrystal and I was amazed to see four bundles of beautiful Brazilian deep wave hair, at first I was quite nervous to have these luscious bundles installed as this was my first time trying out a curly weave, since working with the outstanding Radiant Salon, I have learnt so much about hair leading me to break out of my comfort zone, although I have been quite dearing with the hairstyles I have done in the past, it has given me more oppurtunity to be the dear devil that's been waiting to explode inside me, lol.

After having this versatile weave installed I must say I am quite impressed, the hair is so soft and so easy to style, given that you have purchased the right products to maintain it.

A friend of mine had previously done curly hair and advised me on all the right products to purchase if you want to keep your hair looking right (we're her exact words lol).

So I took a trip down to superdrug followed by the black hair shops.
In superdrug I purchased the John Frieda
"Bounce Curls" collection which included the shampoo and conditioner a daily styling spray and a creme serum to keep the hair moist thoughout the day, Altogether this came to a total of £24  not to bad and I mean if you want your hair to look flawless you gotta spend the bucks lol ;)

Here is an image of the John Frieda products:

Now because I wanted to go for that natural look ( versatile weave) it meant that I needed to have a lot of leave out around the perimeter of my hairline, therefore I had to also purchase products for my natural hair in the black hair shops. My hair is quite mixed so once water touches it shrinks in to these tiny lil curls, in order to tame my natural hair I bought a curl defining cream just so it could blend a lot more with the weave, I also bought edge control for my edges and wrap set lotion that I use at night to set my edges.

I know this all seems a bit much but trust me ALL these products were worth buying as I've seen a huge difference in both my natural hair and the weave.

Two weeks later I can say HairByKrystal is a brilliant hair company, which have matched my expectations and I will be using them again!

Follow them on Instagram @HairByKrystal and get purchasing guys you won't regret it! :)

I'M WALKING AWAY!

Sometimes in life you have to walk away from the things that no longer serve you.

Life is a gift and we sometimes take it for granted, Many of us are creatures of habit, even if those habits aren’t good for us. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is walk from anything that no longer serves us, grows us, or makes us happy. Have you ever found yourself staying in a job that no longer served you? You had reached your growth potential in that position but still stayed there for security or stability. You were basically stuck on the road to nowhere, but you stayed because it was easier than starting over somewhere new, us as human beings, oh no we don't gel very well with the word "change" I’ve often heard people say, “Although I am not happy here, at least I know what to expect here.”

It's basically financial freedom with a spoonful of unhappiness, but you've dreamt about financial freedom with a massive glass full of happiness and fulfilment right? It is that fear of the unknown that keeps people in a holding pattern, that fear of having to work immensely hard to get what you want and what if it doesn't work out? that massive risk of losing everything to be genuinely happy. It’s that fear of the unknown that prevents growth from taking place. "But how will I survive without it, him or her"

Have you ever found yourself staying in a relationship that was more of a curse than a blessing? I used the word curse because a curse is something that brings trouble or bad luck to your life. If you are in something that fills your life with disappointment, leaves you feeling depleted, takes away from your life instead of enhancing your life, that’s a curse, well in my opinion.

I truly believe life is what YOU make it, whatever it is that you desire to do in your heart do it!

You are in control of your own life, trust that you are wise enough to make your own decisions, sometimes our environment can cloud our visions and our decisions.

20 Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Happy Pancake Day! :)

Hey Guys,

As you all may have notice I am a serious food lover! I LOVE to eat and I LOVE to cook, I find both Theraputic lol.

Maybe one day once I've peaked in my fashion career I'll invest in a restaurant who knows.

So I don't normally blog about food but today for some reason I had an epiphany, "I might as well blog about all the things I love" I mean it is a lifestyle blog I guess and this is part of my lifestyle so here goes :)

It's Pancake dayyy! This morning I woke up at 9am on my day off to make pancakes, I'm someone that loves to experiment so I decided to make Cinnamon and Vanilla pancakes with a side of smoked bacon.. Sounds amazing right? Well it was! Lol

Here's my recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  •  butter for frying
  • • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
    • 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon

    Method:

I decided to be lazy and blend everything so I measured all the right ingredients and popped it all in the blender:

Once you've blended everything you should have a smooth & thick mixture:

Now heat up the frying pan, don't have the fire to high otherwise you'll burn the pancakes and we don't want that now do we lol.

Get a tiny bit of butter and add it to the frying pan. Once it's melted pour a small amount of mixture into the pan, leave it to cook for about 1-2mins and then turn it over, how I usually do it, when I see the pancakes forming lil blisters I know it's ready to turn over:

Now if you want to add a bit more flavour to spice your pancakes up you can add cinnamon and vanilla to the mixture:

I did and they tasted great! I also added a side of bacon as they go down so well with pancakes. So there we have it Cinnamon and Vanilla Pancakes garnished with melted butter & Golden Syrup:

I hope you like my recipe, enjoy! :)

To help yourself, you must be yourself.

To help yourself, you must be yourself, don't worry the world will adjust, let go of the thoughts "what will people think of me" when you are being your true self, you will attract the right people, who will not judge, but accept you for who you are, so follow that dream, fight those fears and be the best YOU can be.

Working and living in such a judgemental world can be so hard at times, you find yourself comparing and judging. When I first got in to the fashion industry I wasn't sure who I was, I didn't no who to be or how to carry myself, I wanted to stand out and be like all the other stylists, designers and fashion icons I use to research and see but as months went by and then years I realised that wasn't me, I was trying to fit in and be like "everyone" else.

What we need to realise and accept is that we all have our own qualities and talents  and through being our true selves we can perfect them and eventually be the best we can be! Thought I would share some words of inspiration today :-) have a lovely day all and remember to help your self you must be yourself!
